Bits & bytes for August 4th 2023
How have we blitzed past the E3 window of the year already? We're now into the "omg everything is going to be released soon" cycle. And while it's not top of my internal pick-list or anything, I do note that EA haven't spilled many beans on the new "EA FC" FIFA replacement. I wonder if there's trouble in paradise there.
I also tapped into two story modes on games I typically avoid story modes on. The first being F1 23, which is actually super compelling! Though the story is wildly predictable, it plays out really well and juxtaposes action in the race against story without being too boring, or even remotely pretending it's a sim. And then I did the same wit Street Fighter 6, which is truly bizarre because it's sort of this Yakuza-style gameplay mechanic with a bit of mild free-roaming in a world (NYC) where everyone is a future Ken or Chun-Li.
I also finally got a copy of Inky and the Alien, which is a brand new game... for GBA. Which I will play on my Analogue Pocket. I'll jot my thoughts down here but I'm excited!
